Why is a Behavioral Intervention Plan
important?
BIPs include measurable goals , interventions, and
materials needed to increase outcomes for individuals
and/or groups. Program decision-making is based on data
collected through the course of program implementation.
Primary Purposes of the BIP
• Outline specific interventions for behavior change
• Include measurable behavioral goals
• Include behaviors targeted for increase, maintenance, and decrease
• BIPs help with behavioral components of IEPs
Behavioral Intervention Plan (BIP):
BIPs include measurable goals, interventions, and materials needed to increase successful outcomes for individuals and/or groups. Program decision making is based on data collected through the course of program implementation. Outcomes of BIP programs are dependent on participation of parties concerned in order for success to be realized.
